"The sons of the Lion hunt in silence."

Whispers of chaos had been heard from the planet of Tartora, in the last three months, the Knights of the Silent Hunt had been warned of increasing visions of blood soaked ruins, and of statues at the holy shrines of the fallen crying tears of blood.

Uriel Valcarn was no fool, a veteran of the Third Tartoran Campaign, he knew it was only a matter of time before the servants of the Blood God made their way forth again. The cycle always proved true. Warbands descended upon Tartora, and the Knights and PDF beat them back.

this only makes Tartora more of a target. Those crazed beasts are drawn to the carnage

Valcarn thought to himself.

This is what had lead him here, a meeting in the void, halfway between Tartora and Nemoris prime, he and some of the Knights were aboard an Imperial Voidship, awaiting rendezvous with an up and coming rouge trader.

Arms and ammunition, provisions for the campaign to come, and for the trader perhaps a favorable contract with the Astartes chapter and Nemoris Prime.

These things and more was Uriel Valcarn prepared to negotiate.

For the Imperium Nihilus stands alone, and War is coming.

Avilaine couldn't believe how fortunate she'd been. First a Space Wolf and now a successor to the Dark Angels? She'd come to the aid of not one but two Astartes Chapters now, both facing down chaos. Avilaine was definitely one to think about profit, but she was a loyal servant of the God Emperor first and foremost. And the fact that she found herself able to aid his avenging angels twice now, making such powerful connections with strong allies like the astartes, made her wonder if perhaps the Emperor had some kind of destiny in mind for her. If so, who was she to shy away from it?

When she'd received the message from a chapter of Space Marines called the Knights of the Silent Hunt requesting that she aid them with provisions for an upcoming crusade, she jumped at the opportunity straightaway. When she had aided the Space Wolf Revmar Bloodoath, she'd acquired a not insiginificant amount of ceramite plating in the form of traitor astartes armor as well as their weapons. She'd of course had them melted down and the material purified by the appropriate people. But now she had with her a not insignificant stockpile of material for these knights, not only in the form of arms and ammunition such as brand new Bolters of all kinds, Power Weapons, Plasma Weapons, Lasfusils, Flamers and the requisite Ammunition and Fuel for these weapons. But she also had with her a considerable stockpile of Ceramite Ingots, ready to be fabricated into brand new armor segments or shields for the Space Marines.

She also carried similar gear for their Planetary Defence Forces and any additional guardsmen they may have under their command. Alongside that she carried plasma cores and cells for any reactors that may need them to power their fortresses. She'd spared no expense in acquiring all the materials the chapter could possibly require and more. She knew that the Astartes were facing a foe that was quite difficult to handle, and assumed they would appreciate a little bit of overcompensation.

Her vessel, The Arrogance, emerged from the Warp in the place where she'd been instructed to meet the Astartes Chapter Master. It was an Ambition Class Cruiser, and straightaway they would receive a vox transmission from The Arrogance.

"Good Morrow my lords." A woman's voice would sound through their vox's speakers. "I hope I'm not late."

"The sons of the Lion hunt in silence."

As the ship slipped into real space, the sensors recognized the void ship classified The Arrogance.

The Lord-Captain of the Imperial Naval Vessel Invincible Retribution turned to look up at the towering Primaris Marine next to him.

"Your guest has arrived, my lord"

Uriel Valcarn looked down at the man. Grey eyes scanning the face of the Imperial. Rogue traders were sanctioned by the High Lords of Terra but some in the Imperial Navy viewed them with distaste.

As the trader's voice came through the Vox, a battle brother of the Knight's handed Uriel his helm. Tucking it under his arm he motioned for the communications to be opened.

"Rogue-Trader Avilaine Mabeius, this is Uriel Valcarn. Chapter Master of the Knights of the Silent Hunt. Prepare to receive us."

The chapter master was not one to mince words. Already on the move as the Vox connection cut.

"Brother Ezias, prep the Thunderhawk, I am inbound"

a clipped

"Yes Chapter Master"

was all that returned his communications.

On board the gunship Uriel was joined by battle brothers Ezias and Raphael.

"The Naval officers distrust the rogue traders. Is it wise to trust them my lord?"

Raphael said

"Their authority is granted by the Imperium, it is not our writ to question. We have need of her services"

Uriel reaponded

"The imperial naval officers distrust everything. That is what makes them effective allies in our hunt"

Ezias put in.

As the Astartes finished their conversation the thunderhawk shuddered as it landed in the Hangar of The Arrogance.
